Grassfire Welcomes JP Cormier

Grassfire is pleased to announce that JP Cormier will appear as our special guest on Saturday December 4th, 2010 at the Oxford Theatre in Oxford, NS.  This promises to be an awesome show as JP combines forces with Grassfire for an entire evening of bluegrass.

See the Shows section of the Grassfire web site for more details.

Glen Williams Wins Male Vocalist of the Year

The 26th Annual Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Awards were held in Truro, Nova Scotia on October 16th, 2010.  After only playing for less than six months as a unit, we were very proud to see Grassfire's own Glen Williams walk away with the coveted Male Voclaist of the Year.  This is great news for the band as they head to the recording studio this fall.  Accepting the award for Glen, Dale Wood announced that he was promptly reducing Glen's pay.

Grassfire to Play Awards Show

We are very pleased to announce that Grassfire has been chosen to perform at the Eastern Canadian 2010 Bluegrass Awards Show in Truro in October.  Ten bands were chosen to perform this year from a list of forty two.  The Awards are always a gala event with a once a year gathering of all of Eastern Canada's best bluegrass musicians.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Grassfire Performs in Nine Mile River

Grassfire performed this evening in Nine Mile River at the Community Centre to a packed house.

This was the group's first public performance with bass player Kenny Collins and Fiddle player Vince Robin.  The music ranged from traditional bluegrass to new and original material and was well received by the crowd.
